1/6 scale manor house bedroom

Debora59

I still need to finish the fireplace, there is just a piece of wood sitting on top so you cant see inside. I have another bedroom room box to complete with the exact same process as yesterday. the ceiling is ready to accept the beams, which have already been routered out for the chandelier cord, so I will start there.

I am anxious to try out the 30 inch hinge on the bay window now that the room is together.

These colours are really harmonious Debora.......classy yet relaxing at one and the same time.

Are you going to make a top for the fireplace that goes back into the corner or make a false flue across the corner up to the ceiling?

Thank you Mike, I am not sure about the fireplace yet, I have moved it several times, in the original plans it was to sit where the bed is,  I had planned to cut away the base board so the fireplace would sit flush against the wall, but then it became more about being able to change it around if I wanted to, I like being able to see the fireplaces burning [ they get ignited each morning as I let my dachshunds out ] so I have enjoyed it most on the back all  and corner. It may yet find a permanent position in the room especially if I build an exterior chimney stack up the side of the house. or if I have just the chimneys somewhere on the roof.

There are so many more considerations on a build like this.....but you're doing brilliantly!
