front of house

Mordana

Front of Heritage house, still under construction.  Is there any special kind of sealant i can use on the floors?  22 years ago they were sanded fine and smooth, but they're starting to buckle now.  I'm having some trouble with my swinging windows; they don't line up neatly.

Not sure about what to do about your floors.  My VM600 didn't have any doors, so I bought some and had to enlarge the opening so they would fit.  I used Popsicle sticks to create hard wood floors, which raised the floors about 1/8", but I only had the one doorway that I was modifying already.  As far as wallpapering, I made templates of the walls with notebook paper.  I cut it into strips, started in one corner, taping the first strip to the wall just in the upper corner to keep it in place, then adding strips to my tacked corner piece with small bits of tape, placing them around the obstructions.  Then I would pull that mess out, use it as a rough template to cut another piece of paper, and then check to see if it fit.  Usually had to make a couple of modifications, again using strips.  And would finally get my final template!  I know it sounds complicated, but it really isn't.  As for the ceilings, I papered mine, with solid colored memory book paper.  In fact, I usually use memory book paper instead of doll house wallpaper.

i guess you can tell I'm pretty excited about your project!

That's great! I got some scrapbooking paper with tiny designs to use, but I was hesitant to try it.  now that I know it works, I'm gonna try it this weekend.  I'm guessing I should paper the upstairs before I put in the roof?
