I like the stairs, I really thought it made the house look more mid-century!  The fact that you can see through them into the bay window area is a plus.  Love your foreman, too!

The arch at least makes it easier to access that side with the stairs in the way.  I have little hands, and it was problematic for me, but my friend's daughter is much smaller and maybe she wouldn't even notice.

Lol! Me, neither.  I knew when I was digging it out of the closet that he'd think it was for him.  my mom had a big hefty cat when I was in college who liked to sleep in this house, but on the second floor next to the stairs.  That's why the railing is leaning over a bit there.

LOL  Looks like he is saying "This spindle right here could use a bit of tightening."  

Ziggy is too much - looks so much like Roscoe a cat we had for 19 years - and like Ziggy - Roscoe found a comfy spot in all sorts of odd places.  I love it. . .
