back of house

Mordana

So here is the back of the house I partially completed 22 years ago.  I can see a lot of mistakes and things I wish I hadn't done.  I don't know what possessed me to carpet the stairs and nothing else. :/  I wish I hadn't used the stairs, as they block half the bottom floor, but not sure if I can even take them out now.  What's the best thing to use on the ceilings?  i didn't even think about them at the time, and now I really want to cover them.

I've never seen this house, and I really like it.  My first project, 2 years ago, was refurbishing a completely constructed Dura-Craft VM600.  It was probably constructed about the same time you were putting this one together.  It had been stored in a garage and the walls and floors had warped a lot.  The stairs were gone.  The windows were in tact, so I worked with them, even added some.  I did end up replacing the second floor board because it was so warped.  Which opened the house up to a lot of new possibilities!  You can find my gallery here on Greenleaf.

You mentioned you were rehabbing this for a child. If it was me, I'd be tempted to just remove the stairs completely, fill in the hole and let the rooms be nice and big for little hands to play in.

If it was for myself, I'd still remove them and reposition them on the center wall as a straight stairway to save space bith down and up on that side.

That's a good idea.  I wanted to use that side for the kitchen, but since the stairs block the wall space, I couldn't find any spot for the fridge  to fit except behind it, and it's really hard to get to.

Thanks, I'll check it out! :)
