window moldings poll

Debora59

I must strengthen the walls that the window sets up against, since this is where the dollhouse opens, but is it too much to use these large moldings? They actually support the ceiling at the same time

not sure, but my vote might be no, I feel its taking away something from the bay windows and yet something must be there to create a clean edge.

I think the trims are too bulky(?) - It takes away from the overall feeling of lightness in the room. i also think that rounded trim doesn't compliment the ceiling construction. Maybe look for a 1/4 inch angled trim. (these 90 degree corner thingies).

Another possibility might be something embossed that won't stand out from the wall and looks like it only 'frames' the wall panels. Although I don't know where to find anything like that. I saw brass banding at JAR/JAF that might give you an idea.

I found these on etsy to give you an idea:

Right Selkie, but the round has some beveling so that's why it was worth tying, what ever I decide it has to contribute to the support and strength, I may choose a straight piece and paper over it and around the edge. I do like the brass banding link, I was looking for something like that to make a Gothic light fixture at one time.
