Thorne Manor

Miniature Georgian style home, circa 1785 architecture, 1/12 scale. Handmade, not a manufactured kit.

Design and construction began in 1980 in St. Paul, Minnesota. After 2 years of work, the home was not assembled as a complete unit as you now see it, but was a collection of 25 individual, partially completed wall, floor and ceiling panels. After retiring from a career in electrical engineering, I unpacked everything and resumed working on this project in early January 2015.

Working an average of 8 hours a day for 11 weeks in 2015, the home was finished for exhibition at March Art Madness on the eve of the March 25th drop-off day. I estimate that I have spent over 2000 hours working on it since 1980. The home is conservatively valued at $8000.
