Mod Squares

My aunt commissioned this for her remodeled house. She loves geometrics and the strong colors and textures matched her remodeling of the entertainment room. This screens her basement bathroom window. Absolutely the most difficult: this pattern required strong reinforcement.

My aunt had used this crackle glass tile which was black and clear, red glass lampshades, gold in her artwork, and gray paint on the walls of her remodel, which is why I chose the glasses I did. This is the first pattern I made myself. What I didn't realize is all those straight lines make for a weak pattern! I was soldering it and it was like an Abbott & Costello comedy routine. Darn thing fell apart at the middle seam, which forced me to reinforce the heck out of it! Never again, unless the money is really good...
