Hand rail and stair column

Not fastened or glued yet. I am thinking about scrapping the rail and starting over. The ballusters aren't square and it will drive me nuts if I don't fix it. I am not sure I like the pattern anyway.

I thought about you this past weekend. The house we stayed in in California for the weekend is a craftsman style home. It is new construction, but the architect (who also did the interior design) kept the craftsman style in all the details and furnishings.

What if you duplicated the pattern in the light fixture.....beautiful woodwork!

I had thought of doing that but I don't think I have the patience for it. Yikes!
