First floor fireplace and bookcase

Boy, the photo really shows all the imperfections!

I decided to put 2 shelves in the bookshelf as I saw another builder do. This looked better to me than just having the original one shelf. I was able to cut this out of scrap wood from one of the sheets.

I plan on putting some trim around the bottom of the staircase to help hide where some of the wallpaper got damaged.

I think you're being too hard on yourself. It's looking great! Putting in that second shelf was a brilliant idea, and I'd never know the fireplace was your first paperclay attempt. Very nice work!
