This was a fun build; no matter how many houses I build or what the design, I still end up learning something(s) the hard way, and this house was no exception! I used a fair amount of matboard with this build: cut long strips of it to trim edges, and it seems to be doing pretty well. I glued the kit onto a base of 1/4" plywood so that adds weight but helps with structure. My colors are "powder beige" (Valspar interior satin) for the main color, with trim in raw umber, window trim in "pomegranate tea" (Valspar interior eggshell), and accents in Mint Julep Green (Americana acrylic). I went through quite a few up and down phases with respect to this color palette but I like how it turned out in the end.
