More roombox work.

I have been working on the wall piece that holds the window, finishing the window frame and treatment (I made the curtain rod from a piece of balsa sanded to a roundish profile, and two drawer handles that I pulled off a Dollar Tree side table, and two bead findings), and making sure the lightbulb behind it works before I glued it in:

I have been using tacky wax to hold things in place for dry-fitting, like the window frame pieces-- I used it quite a bit for my Spring Fling too, and I rather like the stuff! I dryfit some fancy paper that I have (actually it's from linings from some correspondence card envelopes, that I think I've had for about fifteen years!) to see if I like the look against the wallpaper. It's a bit eye-catching but I like it. I used 1/32" basswood strips to make the floor on a cardstock pattern; I didn't want anything too elaborate since most of it will be covered by the rug anyway, so I settled on a simple herringbone. I framed the ceiling paper with basswood strips. In the angled views you can also see where I pulled out the threaded eyes for the curtain rods and reinstalled them with gold sequins as backers.

I've glued in the wall piece, and the bookcase on the left side-- well first I fixed that right window handle that was much shorter than the left one and really bothering me...! Now I have the floor and ceiling under books and paint cans for a nice flattening, and I can install them and start the trim work.
