Dormers and entry, and a little roombox work.

Well I had been working on the Spring Fling since my last entry (and with the site updates, this is the first that I have been able to post pictures here also  ), but here is where I left off with the Willow:

Trying some Hobby Lobby 50%-off-sale purchases, just for grins:

I especially like the little stand with all the drawers and hinged panels-- I don't know what it is called; maybe an effects bureau?

After I got all my Spring Fling pictures submitted and posted and admired all the other entries, I started fiddling with the study roombox again; I assembled the box and collected some things for it some time ago, but hadn't gotten around to working on it further. The paper is a Korean rice paper that is a bit fiddly to work with; I can't scrub down on it as I do to flatten my cardstock wallpapers, or it will start to get the "fuzzies" and disintegrate.

The shelves are basswood, and the windowed wall that sticks out is balsa; the photo, I found on the internet. I have a lightbulb installed so that the window will be lit (in a muted way though, since apparently the sun is setting). For the electrical outlet, I borrowed a trick that otterine showed in her lovely Spring Fling entry, using little beads around the wire for the plugs. I really like the effect!

Edit: the side table is just standing in for a desk that I want to try my hand at making. The little table looks weird because I got it at a discount because three of the legs had been broken and haphazardly reglued-- I tried to chip off the glue and put bits of sewing pin in them to hold them, but they'll need some strategic painting, I think. The lamp on the side table, I took off its cheapy plastic shade and have plans to make a new shade for it.
