The Beginning of the Pierce - My First House

I've completed the foundation. And today I completed the stairs. The stairs took awhile. I've been setting some furniture around to try to figure out the electrical. Tomorrow I'm staining the stairs and the kitchen floor. I can't remember who wrote it, but he said that I believe he and his wife create house they would like to live in themselves. So I really liked that idea. I bought carpeting to put in the dining room and living room. When I was at this Dollhouse Store yesterday I saw what looked like marble flooring. I wish I would have bought it for the entry way. I think I may go back at the end of the week and get it.... I've been spending a lot of time looking in miniatures.com catalog and thinking about what I want and not rushing through this. I'm someone who usually just plows through something quickly and I'm trying not to do that!!

Same here, Delores-- dollhouse building has been a great experience for me in that area... I still get impatient and sometimes cut a few corners, but I am getting better about forcing myself to take a step back and think things through. I am working on the Pierce also (just finished the bulk of the shingling!) and Wolfie's Pierce has been a big inspiration for me-- she steps through, takes her time, does a lovely job on each area before moving on to the next...
