trimwork

I spent some time today sanding all the exterior trimwork (corner pieces and roof trimpieces)...after doing all that, i glued all the roof trim pieces in place and started on the two bay windows. I've decided that i'm going to stucco the house. I'm not up for all of the siding that needs to go on this house. I'd have to sand each piece and i'm just not up to fighting the warping of the strips. So i think it will look nice in stucco. I don't see that very often on this house so it will be another way that my house is different from everyone's.

I also cut a new window on the wall above my kitchen extension. It was bare there and needed alittle something. Makes the room look nicer inside too. This weekend i hope to do some spackling and on my next days off next week and weekend i hope to sand down the spackle and get a coat of paint on all the trimwork. Hopefully i'll also get the front porch totally put together as well.

Sometime in the next 2-3 weeks i'll put the stucco on!

I didn't take any pictures this time :ohyeah:

What? No pics  I'm dying to see the new window (big hint).

By the way, what's the difference between spackle & stucco? I want to stucco my aster, but none came with the kit.

okay, so i changed my mind again, i'm going to do siding  I looked at photos yesterday of other houses and if i don't do the siding i wont be happy with it.

Jackie, spackle gives a different stucco texture. what i had in mind was a paint with sand in it. It gives it a neat look. So when i say stucco, i really mean a possibility of textures :)

I know what you mean, Marg, the siding does look good. Please blog how you do it, as I have no idea, but will want to do siding on mine, eventually.

Thanks for the explanation about stucco, I think I'll play with adding some Polyfilla (spackle) powder to paint.
