havanaholly
Invest in a roll or two of blue painters' tape and assemble at least the shell without gluing anything (called "dry fitting") so you can see which parts might be impossible to fit your hand with a paintbrush once it's together. To answer your questions: 1) I take a pencil and mark the corners when the house is in dry fit, then I split the blue tape into narrower lengths and mask off the places I want to glue parts together befroe I prime or stain anything. 2) I use Titebond carpenters' wood glue (with the RED cap) to glue wood to wood. 3) Dry fitting should give you some idea of how the bottom of the house fits the foundation.
