Purpose of the removable roof sections for the Garfield

Recommended Posts

I am repairing and finishing a Garfield and am halfway through the shingling.  There are two sections of the roof that are called "removable" in the instructions.  Can anyone tell me under what circumstances an owner would remove those sections?  Would it be only when first setting up the house, or are they there to remove completely  if a child intends to play with the house and move people and accessories around?  I am trying to shingle them so that the finished house looks like the pictures and have tried to slide the lip of the roof section under a row of shingles.  I don't know who will eventually play with this house as it was a donation to our mini club and will be sold eventually (when I'm done playing with it!).
