working fireplace

This isn't the greatest picture of my 'working' fireplace, but you get the idea.

It is a battery operated tealight candle (3 in a pack at Dollar Tree). I painted it black, turned it on its side and glued pieces of wood around the 'flame'.

Obviously, thge 19th century log cabin should not be wired for electricity, so this is a way to add some light to the inside. It flickers like a fire would so it's a little more realistic than simply putting a lightbulb in the fireplace.

Chepa and easy.
