roof trim

I am trying to decide if adding the top roof trim would be too much. In this picture you don't get the full effect with all the balconies and the main long porch. I could not get them all in one picture. If you look a pic or two back you can see them one by one.

I like the railings...but I don't like how they don't match...maybe that's it? What if you got more of the gable top and cut the bottom half off and put the top half on the roof?

I am not sure I understand where you are sugguesting the cuts be made. Wouldn't that make them too short to be a balcony railing? I am going to have to snip off the tips of the fencing to be able to attach the hand rail.
