Selkie 4,484 Posted June 10, 2010 While I'm still not quite "getting" what steampunk is, I have to say that this shot is quite intriguing. I kind of reminds me of the Chitty chitty bang bang professors and inventors. All the little gadgets to make it work seem quite functional and real. Quote Link to comment

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a great example of steampunk. (The Golden Compass is even better) It's a combination of high tech futuristic meets victorian. Just imagine what happened when Victorians embraced the age of industrialization and everyone wanted to experiment. For me it's all about the luxurious and more-is-more mindset of gothic victoriana coming together with the wondrous delights of technology and geekery and a little bit of fantasy thrown in. Just One More 101 Posted June 12, 2010 Are you just collecting those or putting them in a house decorated in that style? That should be really interesting. Quote Link to comment

I'm sure that I'll eventually do a steampunk house of my own but right now I'm building these for my store. <grinning> Okay, that's just an excuse. I'm building them coz they're just soooooooo much fun to do! Deb Quote Link to comment
