I saw a sign similar to this at a RL coffee shop a few weeks ago and the wheels started turning in my mind. A jewelry-finding for the base, a bamboo stick for the pole and a wooden craft bead to finish the pole, a sign painted on watercolor-paper to catch passing tourists' attention... and a denim baseball cap to top it off with humor.
