By April the backstory was complete: Joe Olivette, a Silicon Valley refugee, took a buyout and came to the small town of Thorny Coast, Maine. He purchased the street of shops on Revolution Avenue, numbers 9–17, from his wee aunt (she's no doubt retired to Florida by now... I wonder if that will be our project next year...), and is now landlord to some longtime shopkeepers and the owner of his own space, the surf & skate shop located just below his office.

Over the course of this year we've amassed a huge collection of floorplans, sketches, and detail drawings for the project. These are the color boards (one board for each shop on the street) that we've referred to in order to keep each space on track.
