If it's the posts themselves, you could use a sharp craft knife blade and slice (through the glue) them at the step, and lift off the the whole thing, (railing attached), then glue it backtogether again. It's hard to tell where it's bad because the picture is small, but it looks fine from here... ;)

Thanks for the advice! I actually plan to post close up pics so everyone can see because I'd really like to redo them but don't want to destroy them in the process!
