Cutting a hole for the lighting

Silvyr

Someone on the forum (I'm sorry, I can't remember who) had asked about battery-operated lighting for dollhouses. There don't seem to be a whole lot of options, but it was suggested that you can use floral lights - there are about 10 lightbulbs per package, each on its own wire, connected to a battery pack. They run on AAs and I found them for about $5 each at Michaels. I figure I'll need about 3 packs to fully light the house.

I cut a hole beneath the fireplace to run wires for the lighting; the wires run up the hidden part of the chimney/fireplace. The only real downside to these lights are the length of the wires, but they can be easily lengthened (or so my boyfriend tells me). However, with the Fairfield being a half-scale house anyway, the length isn't a problem.
