It is tough to see in here, but the attic is "newspapered" between support beams. A little lightbulb with a pull chain (that I pasted on myself) hangs down also. That long strange box is something I built out of cardboard to house the power strip; the slot enables on-off while the fact that it is cardboard enables getting at the power strip inside...
