Lacey doily and philodendron-in-progress

Deb G

The lovely crocheted doily was done by the sister of a friend from work who also did the dresser scarf. The philodendron was made from laser cut leaves glued to covered florist wire. I got the kit from minikitz.com and it's about half done. I glued the leaves to the wire, then painted each leaf (they were flat pale green like the underside you can see) to look like the yellow-and-dark-green mottled plants I've seen, then pressed the wires into a wad of Paperclay in the pot that I had covered with coffee grounds. When I get home tonnight, I'll test to make sure the Paperclay has anchored the stems well, then I'll bend and shape them to look like a real plant. More pics coming!
