Nileke 0 Posted November 14, 2009 I love the siding! How did you get the siding to fit so neatly around the window? I noticed your windows and doors were already in prior to siding the house. So were mine. For my Laurel I had no other option than to use siding sheets. I didn't do very well at making them fit around the windows and doors, because I already had built the house. And I only found out I couldn't afford the individual siding strips after the Laurel was built. However, I still have a Westville, including the individual strips. So I thought I'd ask. wenlaine 93 Posted November 14, 2009 Hi Marianne, I always use the individual strips for siding, painting them first before installing. I also like to have the trim already on around the doors and windows. I know there are others here who measure up to where the trim would go but I like to have it exact and the only way I can do that is to have the trim on. Then it's just a matter of cutting the strips to fit taking a little off at a time until it fits nicely.I can't comment at all on the siding sheets since I've never used them.Good luck with your Westville and I will look forward to seeing your pictures. I prefer to have all the trim in place too beforehand. Well, we hardly have any siding on houses here, so I can't compare to real houses, but it would make more sense to have it already on. The Westville will have to wait for a while, I'm afraid. I have a small half scale cottage that I want to do first. Quote Link to comment
