Upstairs Patio with Krokalia floor

New Day

This is the upstairs patio with doors from the bedroom. The doors are made from tall louvered shutters. The floor of the patio is in a Krokalia style, which means "alligator back". I made the stones from air dry clay and glued them to a pattern before they dried, so that they would scrunch up close to each other and fit nicely. I painted the pattern areas after they dried and did the border in painted sand. I made the chairs from scrap wood, and the lemon tree from moss and sculpey lemons.

This house is so perfect, it couldn't be more Greek island if it tried. I have stayed in houses like this built on steep hillsides and with an amazing view of the sea. I love it, you got everything just so right here from the fireplace to the steps up the side and the bougainvillea draped over the wall.

Great work
