On the boardwalk...

It took me a while to decided whether to attempt the boardwalk in front of the ride... I figured it would be incredibly complicated. What I ended up doing was cutting 4" wide balsa wood strips into parallelograms, and then scoring them along the grain with a clay tool to get the skinnier wood planks.
