The shingles!! I'd know them anywhere.

 

Those paper shingles are so distinctive, I thought at first your house was the Skilcraft Victorian Manor from about 1979, same as mine. Then I looked at the roof line and realized that it *is* a Skilcraft, but not the Victorian Manor—yours is the Skilcraft Colonial from 1978:

Thank you so much! I'll need the luck, there's enough detail work I'm not sure where to start on it. Also, I'm torn on the paper shingles (har har) - it's The Look for that brand, but I prefer other shingles...so do I sacrifice them or not? Can't decide....

Those shingles were the FIRST things to go on my Victorian when I rehabbed it. I'm sure my parents loved the ease when they assembled it for me back then, but they're out of scale, terrible dust collectors, and... they just wreck the illusion.

 

This is the coach house that came with the Victorian Manor (seems it came without the coach house in some kits, but when Sears sold it, it came with)—just noticing that the focus isn't great, but it's good shot of the roof. I replaced the paper shingles with shingles that I dyed in several different tones of grey and ochre to look like unevenly-weathered cedar shakes.

Well first of all that makes me feel better, and second of all WOW! The shingles (and the weathering effect) look great! I'm still figuring out what needs what per dollhouse, I can't afford my focus to be too scattered, but I'm excited to get to this one!
