Mostly finished
The most terrifying step is yet to come: grouting. For now, I'm just appreciating the pretty pattern these made. Really glad I took the plunge and redid this floor.
And for the inquiring minds, I was NOT able to salvage the original floor My poor choice of using hardboard to replace the warped plywood came back to haunt me and I just couldn't save it. The top layer of the particle board came up in quite a few spots. Not enough to make the hardboard unusable but enough to make the plank floor unusable. I resealed the floor, gave it a good paint with the same burnt sienna color and then glued the tiles onto that. These adhered REALLY well so no changing my mind again.
