kreativitea75 79 Posted August 31, 2016 Well, I am having the darndest time with uploading and editing this gallery! Anyway... I started this house while waiting to hear if I had gotten a job that was going to move me from Chicago to Colorado Springs. This is the state it moved in (yay for the sturdiness of 3/8” plywood!) and then sat for 3+ years. The wood floors are iron-on wood veneer strips I got at the hardware store. They aren’t exactly to scale, but they are super easy to apply and don’t add bulk. For a more realistic look, I would just cut the width down, cut them into random lengths, and add some nail holes with pencil before staining, but for this project I am happy with the results. They will probably be almost completely covered in rugs and furniture anyway. Overall I am going for a colonial look and will be furnishing it with my House of Miniatures furniture collection. Given that this will be hung on a wall and I have a cat that likes to eat wires, I’m unsure as to whether I will be lighting this yet. It is shallow, so it really doesn’t need it, but there is nothing like a lit up house at night, am I right? It would be all sconces, candles, and fireplace fires anyway….we’ll see. There’s still time to decide since I would run all wiring on the back and sides. The overall floorplan for the house is two bedrooms in the attic, a third bedroom on the middle floor on the right (green), dining room middle floor left (blue), and then kitchen and parlor/greeting room downstairs. Probably cram a desk in one of the hallways, definitely a tall case clock. I left out the doors because I thought they would just be cumbersome and make it dimmer inside. Quote Link to comment
kreativitea75 79 Posted September 3, 2016 Nope, it just sits open like it is. A hinged set of walls would be really cool, though. Like a cabinet house. Would help keep the cat from trying to jump in it, too. Hmmm, now you have me thinking, Mike! Quote Link to comment
