I really like those curved beams you posted photos of the other day if you can figure out a way to make them in a reasonable amount of time!

When I used to build boat models Heidi I would use 'Flexible Beech' strip when I wanted a curved beam...........once it's steamed and dried in a simple jig made of nails in a board it stays that way without splitting.

Might be worth just looking at some of your Model Boat Suppliers.......most of the will also sell materials like this!

You can of course 'steam' other woods to bend and stay bent........just takes a bit more time and care!
