DIY Miniature Monogram Door Mat

MLI Designs

@Myangela (just noticed there's a paint smudge on my step from taking this pic)

this was pretty easy. I found Burlap Paper Pad in Hobby Lobby. Wish I had found this earlier. I'm a lover of burlap but so difficult to work with.

the burlap is adhered to card stock. I cut out my desired size for a door mat and glued it to a thin piece of foam sheet (same cut size). I put weight on it overnight to keep flat shape.

i grabbed a "V" stamp and used black acrylic paint for that. I then used a sharpie with a ruler to do the edge and inner line. I went over those lines with acrylic black paint with a thin brush. The paint was watered down to give more absorbency and control.

I painted freehand little designs on each side to give it a real feel.

Glueing the burlap sheet to the foam sheet gives it the thickness for a more realistic look.

Great little doormat, and who knew there was burlap paper?  I've been enjoying watching your yard take shape.  The tree is very, very impressive.
