wood filler love

KariW

Yes, it's a messy , time consuming way to get brick, but man do I love the way it looks!!!! The flaws are wonderful! Wood filler and a fondant stamp. Brilliant. Thank you to the man at the Orlando show, who shared his technique.

What type of paint will you use after its dry? Will you seal it first or last or not at all? Just curious about the chipping factor of this product. I had spackle chip off on the corners of one and it's made me a little gun shy. I ended up adding corner trim to stop it but that wasn't the look I was going for.

I think I'm going to use old makeup brushes and chalk pastels. Then my plan is to lightly spray it with a clear coat and once dry I will use the minwax clear coat to really seal it. That should make it stay on and be plenty tough enough to be played with for years.
