Lights, lights and tedious windows!
I had a period of about 2 weeks where I was trying to make lights. I knew I could make table lamps and wall lights fairly easily so didn't start those until I had a couple of chandeliers that I was happy with. THAT was the hard part! I finally made a black chandelier for the dining room using a nespresso coffee capsule, copper wire and some beautiful beads I picked up especially for it. Then I made the child's room lamp, two wall sconces for the bathroom, a stainless light fitting for the kitchen and a dangly light for the entry to hang over the patterned entry tile. I've been waiting for bulbs, then I had to buy candle bases which just turned up today for the gorgeous light I'm making for the master bedroom.
I have also since decided to change the wallpaper in the study. I have found some gorgeous paper that came in a scrapbooking pad. As much as I don't want to make more work for myself, I have decided that this will be well worth it.
Lastly, last weekend I punched out all the bits for all the windows and doors. Fortunately my mother-in-law was visiting and while the boys were all working on our back yard cottage (a place for our 18yr old nephew who lives with us), she helped me sand every single piece!
I then put strips of double-sided tape onto large sheets of paper and laid out all of the pieces. Then, while we were waiting for a cyclone to hit, I sprayed two coats of base white onto the pieces inside my greenhouse which has just been temporarily relocated and doesn't have anything in it! Made a really good spray booth! Today I started sanding those pieces again to paint the last coat which I'll hopefully finish tomorrow.
