Priming and wallpaper.
I sanded and primed the first-page pieces, and started gluing them together. I also put together the staircase support structure. It's not glued in-- this is just to see how it fits and how much needs to be done before its installation (staircase side finishing, room papering, railing, stair runners, pictures on the walls, ceiling treatment including any lighting, etc)-- the answer is everything, I believe...! It looks as though I may even want to go ahead and install the flooring ahead of time, because once that side wall goes on, there'll be no getting in there...
After much agonizing and hand-wringing, I finally picked out some wallpapers, printed and sealed them (Patricia Nimock Plaid matte acrylic sealer, two coats), though I have not decided on the third floor yet. I am thinking about putting in a divider and making two rooms out of the 3rd floor, with one in blue toile and one in mulberry toile, just to liven things up a bit, because the rest of the wallpapers are relatively muted so that I can try to highlight the window dressings and wall decorations. We'll see how it goes. But so far I think I have tended to let the wallpaper take over the room, so I wanted to try something different this time and let the wallpaper take a back seat so to speak. At least for some of the rooms.
