Starting the Willowcrest.

This is the first opportunity I've had to break open the Willowcrest box-- I've been looking forward to this all week!

I punched out all the pieces on the first page, and dry-fit them together-- I still need to sand and prime them, but I wanted to see what it looked like because I never could quite tell how the stairwell was situated from looking at other folks' pictures, because it is so hidden.

I had a bit of difficulty getting the "Kitchen / Entry Wall" (sheet 6) into place even with all the other pieces loose (not glued)-- it will be tougher when the others are glued in, particularly the Center Wall I think, so maybe I will not let the other pieces dry before I insert the kitchen/entry wall... Also the notches in the 2nd floor for the kitchen/entry wall's door "frames" do not look square so I will have to watch that or that section of the wall will look bowed...

Meanwhile I am thinking about the interior decors (to wainscot or not to wainscot? Hmmm...), picking out wallpaper to print from Jennifer's printables, and I need Hobby Lobby to have their 50%-off-minis sale so I can get my lighting! (My electrical stash is pretty depleted after the Westville.) I looked back over the dates of my pictures and posts and figured out that next week should be about time for their summer sale so fingers crossed! I also need to order more window handles but I think I should be OK for stair components-- I'll ditch the kit railings and do my own like I did for the BH and Westville...
