photos of my pub

Well the witch/wizard pub is slowly coming together. This is only my second attempt with paperclay and tudor timbers. I won't be doing it again. By the time you get the timbers repainted, it's a tough process to make it look good. It looks like a preschooler did the paint job. Didn't help that i painted outside the lines in a few places. No way to fix it except throw some moss on it...lol... I spent time working on the house and it's below my expectations of myself. It matches the witch/wizard shop tho which is what i had intended. Both look amaturish on the exterior and not what i had really pictured when i started out. Hopefully the interior will be its saving grace. Well, once i get the interior walls painted (where there is spackle) the rest will really make it come together...i have all the wood pieces stained and ready and more tiles for the floor have been purchased and have arrived. I'm undecided as to what shingles i will use. I have bags and bags of Corona shingles that i got a couple of years ago, they just have to be individually sanded...so i guess it will depend on how much time and effort i want to put into it. I may steal some more shingles from one of my dura-craft kits downstairs...that is what i have done for most of the houses i've built so far :ohyeah: The changes that i made to this kit: i left out the divider wall on the first floor, i closed off one wall and i lost a window by adding a fireplace...ooops just realized i forgot about a chimney....lol....i'll have to add one soon.

It's not that i won't attempt tudor again, i'll just do it differently. Anyway, i wish i had gone with my original ideas for the exterior. The large front wall was supposed to be mostly stone and the bottom section was going to be brick. While i was paperclaying i actually did have brick carved into it but since the paperclay was to wet, i didn't like the way it looked so i redid it. Still didn't like it so i made stonework. I should have just waited until the paperclay dried more before i tried to redo the brickwork. Anyway, i just kept adding timbers in the initial process of doing the timberwork...so i came up with this design and wasn't quite happy with it but figured it would look better once paperclayed. It's okay, just not what i really pictured in my mind. Ah well, things don't always turn out the way we imagine them. I guess it's all just part of the process and we do better (hopefully) on the next project. I think I do better when i'm not trying to be creative, but rather when I do the kit up as it was intended. Such as with my Glencroft and my Federal manor. I'll probably do more of that type of dollhousing in the future. Sorry if I sound negative, I'm just so disappointed really

Anyway, my next project is to get the Westville completed. I purchased some supplies for it this week. I need to get more supplies to finish off the Beacon Hill then i'll get that house completed and moved. I really want to get to my Foxhall. I need alot of supplies for that house which is why i'm going to work on my Westville first. I had more stuff available to get that house completed. I'm trying something different to the outside of the house, (no siding) hopefully I won't screw that up and make it look goofy.

Anyway, here's the pictures of the Pub so far:
