2/26/08. Okay, looking at the building again the next day, i like it a little better. still not happy with the way the timbers turned out, but in person, the colors are pleasing. you can't tell from the photos, but the stonework has variations in color of the stone and the paperclay stucco has varied tones of dirty wash. So there are some good aspects to the house. What i have done with my timbers was that i cut them and made them irregular in shape and then when i put the paperclay on it filled in the irregularities and that is hard to make look good anyway with paint, but it was hard to paint them and make them look crisp and not smudged lines. Like i said i don't think i'll be doing this again. The thought was good, the carry out of the plan wasn't.

hopefully the interior will still be the best point of it tho. :ohyeah:

I need to make a corner bench out of scraps or basswood. Maybe next week. I plan to have a few tables with chairs and am debating still what to do with the upstairs rooms. so far the idea is for either a pool hall (very crowded tho) in the larger upstairs room and a mediums room in the smaller room. The other idea is for a community sleeping room in the large room with old metal frame beds and old comforters and the smaller room would have a small iron bed and a desk in it. Maybe for the proprietor. I'm liking this second idea the best.

Well got my bays glued onto my Westville today. I'm in such a mood to mini but i've so far just moped around the house today. Here it is 1 pm already! bummer.

You are incredibly talented with these houses. The BH is actually my first real work and I am having a heck of a time trying to get it together. I am using your pix to guide me where I am unsure.....and I thank you for that. But, you MUST tell me. What type of stain did you use and what is that "tile" in the kitchen floor and the pub? thanks mary ann (paceus)
