Tissue paper flowers galore

Seedlings

The soil is straight from a tea bag  The seedlings are three strands of DMC floss in two shades of green. I tied a knot in the middle and then snapped off the extra. So how did I get it into the soil? I pushed the knot in using a toothpick. Easy peasy lemon squeezie.

Sunflower

Just for fun! Two size circles with the edges cut to resemble sunflower petals. The center from wire. Don't forget to crumple your paper, it makes it look more real in my opinion ;o) I used four layers to make this flower. The center was covered in gluw and dipped in coffee, heh... I need a cuppa now!

Peony

I like using paper wire for the stems: For this peony I'm using two shades of pink tissue paper. First you need to carefully crumple the paper into two balls and then unfold. I cut four types of petals, I cut tiny irregularities to them. I ended up using three layers of each type. The tip of the wire is made into a tiny loop and dipped into glue. The first layer is crumpled to a ball.

Making your colored tissue paper

I had been using watercolors, but have noticed that it rubs off a bit, so I tried these: Crayons that work like watercolors, the colors are bright and don't come off! I first carefully color white tissue paper, I tend to use more than one color to get the right shade. After you go over the color with a brush dipped in water, it looks like this. Once it's dry you can start using it.
