MamaV
Thanks to @BlueRidgePaws I have tracings for my missing pieces! My next step is to match the tracings to the framing bits that I have to establish which ones I don't have. I also have been offered a jigsaw by my father (I think, we got interrupted by a different sibling, so I'll have to talk to him again about it), so recreating the pieces from basswood doesn't seem impossible. Question is, is basswood the best choice? Should I try foamboard? Or should I scrap the base idea entirely and just put it on a block of foam, and shorten the frame pieces (e.g. for the bay windows that are missing-but-not-for-long) to make my life easier? Any recommendations? My heart says "do it right or do it over" so I'm leaning towards an entire recreation, but I don't know if that's smart. It seems most of the panels are 1/4 of a cm thick, so I just have to make sure whatever wood I use (if I use it) matches the thickness so it fits into the frame bits. MamaV
Upon further research, it seems using a Dremel for this is wiser than a jigsaw. Now I just need the right bits!
