Partelow 18th century French Harpsichord

Recommended Posts

This Mint harpsichord is an early example of the master craftsmanship of Ralph Partelow, Jr and thus bears the unusual signature of him with his wife Dot. It is hand dated September 1979 and features:

* The case is hand crafted from Mahogany. It measures 6-7/8" Long, 3-3/8" wide and 3" tall, when closed.

* Double manual Keyboard with Individual Keys.

* Over 60 Strings are visible on the soundboard.

* The Highly Detailed Original Oil Painting is hand applied to the lid. If you research this, later paintings seem to lack the detail of the earlier ones such as this. It is signed in the left hand, lower corner.

* The included lid Prop is original and as such they are not attached; it simply sits in place and catches in a small dimple on the lid.

I have additional larger photos available.
