When I was little there was a miniature store but for the past ten years there's nothing more than Hobby Lobby in the Des Moines area... I need competition beyond the State Fair to help drive me on.. I do know that there is a miniature club in Marion, but so far I have not been able to attend due to family. I see on the NAME website that there is a minauture club in Des Moines.
