New scratch-build, Front Wall

Up against the baseboard are a few pieces of maple flooring...the lauan plywood will be covered with the finished floors.<br><br>I'm thinking of using walnut and maple squares as tile for the kitchen.<br>Also thinking of using a 1/8" square piece of walnut and an 1/2" octagon shaped piece of maple, both sliced like bread to create the bathroom tiles.
