wood contrast

Kabrina

My new fireplace came in last night and I absolutely love it. Only problem is it's a different color then the other furniture color in the room. I don't know if that makes it look weird or will it balance out once I dress it with accessories? Hoping someone will have some advice to whether I should leave well enough alone or try to tone down the RED of the sofa, chairs and tables... ...just noticed I forgot to finish trimming one of those arms on the chair  oops.

It doesn't bother me to have different wood color. I think matching is more of a contemporary thing. A fireplace is a fixture af the house. The furniture is not. But whatever you choose will look great!!

I think it looks more natural when the furniture doesn't exactly match the fireplace. After all, how often do you move into a (full-size) house and have your sofa perfectly match the existing fireplace? ;)

Good point. If I do make any changes to the furniture I don't think I'll match it perfectly but now I'm not too sure if I like how RED it looks as is...still thinking on it....
