The name of my entry is "La Casa di Topo", or The Mouse House. I was always a huge fan of Topo Gigot on the Ed Sullivan show way back when and when I found this little guy, that is when my Spring Fling kits really came together - he was the inspiration.
I have to say that picture taking was definitely the hardest part of this project for me..oh my, the camera and I are not best friends!
I had a hard time deciding on a definitive "style" - it has Italian, Spanish and French characteristics I suppose, but what the heck..it's a mouse with flair!
In the full house picture, Mr. Mouse is sunning himself on his patio with his cool "shades" on, just enjoying a drink and relaxing - actually Mrs. Mouse is out on an errand and he is really suppose to be mowing the lawn...uh oh!!
I made all the furniture from excess pieces from this kit and my trusty balsa wood. The only pieces of furniture I didn't make are the black cabinet in livingroom and the deck chair Mr. Mouse is relaxing in. I used some very thin copper tubing for the kitchen window "slats" - I just cut them to size and glued them in. The roof is covered with black drawer liner I picked up for $1 at the local hardware store. The tile patio and tile top table in the livingroom are small mosaic tiles I had leftover from the days when I was into making mosaic tables for outside use.
I guess that about sums it up...it was such great fun playing with the 2 kits, although I must say, it took me nearly a month to get a formative idea together..my brain was not cooperating, as usual. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed building it.
