Westminster Hall

Gillain met us again in the lobby and she took us to the oldest part of the building, the Norman part, this is where a lot of people have lain in state on their deaths, the Queen Mother included.

If you look where the railings go down on the right side, there is an underground chapel, Gillian took us there and I was amazed once again, this is an old medieval chapel and when it was found many years ago, it was completely white washed, it has since been restored, religious medieval paintings on every surface found underneath the paint layers. We were not allowed to take pictures ANYWHERE at all, but I asked Gillian if I could here and she said I could so my itchy snapping finger snapped away
