Thank you. The crackle is done using a crackling medium available at most craft stores or on-line retailers ( I used Folkart brand). It is a 3-step process involving a base coat of paint, the crackle medium then a contrasting top coat of paint. It's a bit time consuming but the advantage is not having to sand and fill all the flaws in the wood, they just become part of the aged/shabby chic finish.
