Spiral staircase balusters

I made these from wooden skewer sticks from the dollar store, cut to the right size (3'') and then 'stained' them using a brown sharpie pen to provide the base color. I then lightly ran a gold metallic sharpie over the sticks in a random fashion, and while the ink was still wet rubbed them with a paper towel to provide a little bit of an aging effect.
