DIY Leather Sofa experiment

MLI Designs

A while back I was considering chalk painting a chair I had because I didn't want to take on reupholstery. The reason I chose not to do it because I read over and over the effect was like a leather feel and look.

well, I'm experimenting with my mini couch. I want a rustic, cushy, leather couch for my Sugarplum Dollhouse. I still have to make the seat and back cushions but before I invested time in making those I wanted to see if the chalkpaint will in fact give the leather look. I've only painted this couch once. From what I understand you should paint 2-3 times and sand between each coat.

its looking pretty good so far. I'll keep you posted.

I try to come up with ideas of what is currently trending in home decor. I hope I can inspire others to try out some of the DIY tricks I share.
